We Are Ready to Take Big Steps on Health Tourism…
Date:20.02.2017

A workshop for Health Tourism in Adana has been held.  Adana and Mersin Workshop for Health Tourism has been held with the participation of Mr. Mehmet Ali Aydın, M.D., the Head of the Health Tourism Office, on February 16th, 2017. First, the recent Mersin Şehir Hastanesi (Mersin City Hospital) with 1294 beds and the Sağlık Kampüsü (Health Campus) in Adana, which is still on construction with the capacity of 1550 beds that is going to be active by the end of the year 2017, are evaluated by their potential as a contributor to the health tourism. Participants’ establishments, ideas and suggestions have been taken into consideration and action plans have been made regarding the importance of the health tourism on our cities and our district.

Health Tourism is a type of tourism that people leave their residences for a certain period of time in order to get a health service; and neither these people or insurance companies not only consider the health services and their prices given in their homelands but also alternative countries and health services. Thus, they become able to get the most effective treatment with the most suitable price.  Therefore, we need to participate in all the activities regarding the people whom are considering traveling for treatment purposes.

As our district, we not only participate as the health service providers in a hospital for a planned period of time but also give services of nursing for older-age and rehabilitation services in our thermal institutions.

As the İl Sağlık Müdürlüğü  (Adana Health Directory) our professionally trained health personnel will be happy to share their knowledge and experiences in our fully equipped Health Campus (City Hospital) with 1550 beds.
